    Q: Why do we now have these hard due dates?

    A: Over the last few years the AD JOURNAL staff has had to chase after Advertiser’s for payment, well beyond the due date and sometimes months after the Exemplification has been held. This is creating an untenable situation which is causing financial hardship to the District and to the Master that is unnecessary and will not be allowed moving forward.

    For Example: If you go out to dinner, payment is due immediately after your meal. The First District serves this common courtesy so the Master and his staff can have the funds in a timely manner so they can pay for the Exemplification, the Venue and other cost related to hosting these biannual 4th Degree Exemplification.

    Q: What is the very LAST DATE my payment is due?

    A: ALL payments are due by the above due date – NO EXCEPTIONS for any reason.

    This is especially true for those that wish to list their Candidates names in the AD JOURNAL. Last minute changes will not be honored, once the due date has arrived. This causes delays with printing the AD JOURNAL on time. Imagine an Exemplification with NO AD JOURNAL!! This will not happen.

    Q: I sent my AD but payment was late or in the process of being sent. Will my AD be printed?

    A: If your AD is NOT paid by the due date, then your AD will NOT be run.

    No Exceptions, please ensure payment is made by the due date.

    If your AD is prepared and ready to go and payment remains PENDING, your AD will be removed and will NOT be printed

    This is necessary so that both the AD and the Payment is processed promptly. Your support is paramount and this request is being made so that everyone is aware of the importance of meeting these time lines that affect the production of the final Printed AD JOURNAL Souvenir.

    Q: Why does any of this matter? Is it really an issue that negatively affects the District or the Exemplification?

    A: YES, the AD JOURNAL staff also has many other responsibilities and CANNOT continue to ASK for payments that were due for a Degree held in April or November, weeks of even months later. The vendors, printers, venue and other services are due prior or by the date of the Exemplification. It is our responsibility to ensure that payments are processed quickly so the Master can pay for all the related services to host a successful 4th Degree / Military Ball & Exemplification. We also contract with a 3rd party Printer that we cannot continually go to a week before the event. That is simply not going to work and may cost the District more to complete the ADS in time for the Degree.
